The Essex Board of Health samples and tests the bathing waters in our community throughout the bathing season.
Sampling starts before Memorial Day weekend and continues until Labor Day weekend.

Centennial Grove Beach is tested weekly throughout the season.
Camp Menorah is tested prior to opening and throughout their camping season.
Due to Consistent low bacterial readings, Clammers and Front Beach had Sanitary Surveys performed. Based on the results of these surveys, the Essex Board of Health and MA Department of Public Health granted a variance which allows a sampling reduction to once every four weeks at these sites.
