The Town of Essex Water Department will be flushing Hydrants Starting on Monday October 2nd. Flushing will begin at the Hamilton line and end at the Gloucester Line.
We anticipate that is will take 3 weeks to complete. In the event that you get discolored water, run you hose spigot or cold water tap until clear.
Please be advised that we have been and will continue to take the necessary steps to help alleviate the sporadic discolored water issues in town. Although not aesthetically pleasing when this happens your water supply is safe and meets all Department of Environmental Protection drinking water guidelines.
A safe drinking water is our top priority and we will continue to address ways to improve this situation. Water Department personnel monitors and tests for water quality daily at the Treatment Plant. If your water is discolored run an outside spigot until clear and call our office at 978-768-6431 to provide us with the time and date of the occurrence.
Thank you for your patience in this matter.
