Early Voting

Starting with the 2018 state election, Massachusetts now requires municipalities to allow for early voting for all biennial state elections and all local elections scheduled on the same date.  No excuse required, just vote! The Town of Essex makes early voting available at the Town Clerk's office in Town Hall during regular business hours during the EV period which starts on the 11th business day before the election date and ending at the close of business on the business day preceeding the day before the election. Expanded voting hours during the EV period will most likely also be available (check the website for the published EV Schedule). Early voting can be done in person or by mail by submitting an application.  EV by mail is similar to the Absentee voting process.
