Weekly Arbovirus Reports from MA Dept. of Public Health
Mosquito trapping* and testing began during the week of June 13, 2022. Continued warm weather will support increased populations of WNV and EEE mosquito vectors, and it's important to avoid mosquito bites by using EPA approved repellents, avoiding peak mosquito activity between dusk and dawn, and removing standing water by emptying containers and tarps.
*Note: mosquito trapping is conducted by regional mosquito control districts within their member communities and these samples are tested for arbovirus at the MA State Public Health Lab.
